Whats this look like to you? Wellllp. That doesn't matter, because your a hater anyway. Let me tell you what it is to me. This is the cause of a crash. One that could have been way way worse. And we are now going to use this as enlightenment on bike maintenance. I unloaded the bike at the spot, did my usual quick inspection. Nothing falling off. All the levers and brakes feel solid. Lets ride!

I clutch up a seat stander, dip it in, knock out 5 solid O's like butttaaaaaa. In my head I'm Ice Cubing it up.. Today is a good day! Set it down and start trying a couple of small variations and I notice my handbrake is getting softer. What the hell..I have never had an issue with my fluid, but truth be told I haven't changed it in a while. So I'm like hell guess I'll keep riding see if it was just a bubble or something. A couple foot brake tricks and then back to handbrake circles. This time I got a camera in my face so I'm dodging this person thats all up in my grill, working my body weight to compensate for a shitty feeling brake. Then all the sudden it gets out of control I clamp down on the lever and I feel a little pop and it goes to the bar. Bike comes back to twelve o clock and I aim it away from the photographer, it goes down without an issue.

What the hell! I look down to this, I'm like man those bolt heads are a little rusty but no way it rusted through and snapped off(I only use high quality bolts 8.8+). Well turns out the bolts backed all the way out! I threw some loctite in and tightened them all back up and went back to riding.

LET THIS BE A LESSON. We all take some things for granted on our bike. Please check all your vital bolts, calipers, handbrake brackets, rotors, etc etc. A little laziness and maybe me doing a sketchier trick this could have really hurt some people!

On to the riding. We started the day off blowing down the lot...with a leaf blower..jeez, quit being perverted! Me, Mike, and Dow rode pretty much all day. Dow was killing some sick sitdown no throttle hand waves. Mike was CREEEEEPING super slow through the lot. I thought he was about to just stall in the middle and clutch out. I know he hates it, but a little more gearing on his bike and he's turned into a monster progressing so quick.
I ended up with a couple minor crashes/fall overs doing at the max 125 degree turns. BOOM SHAKA LAKA!! I had sent a haggard old seat off to the boys at HydroTurf/HTMoto and recently just got it in. Now your thinking, what is the point in flossing out a rear seat when you don't have a glamor bike? Well, to not be stabbed in the back for one.

For the last two years, I've been out of the endo game for the most part and since I got a good front end I'm going to get back into it. Well in this amount of time I've gotten pretty picky with my foot in seat/trunk positioning. Having a size 13 shoe I need a solid place to put my foot. And the flimsy stock seats, just don't cut it. So on my last bike I had machined a billet aluminum foot plate. It was amazing to stand on and make wheelies....but it was always lurking in the back of my head ... "That shit could get midevil on your spine"

Thus, my reason to decide to shell out the pretty pennies to get this seat made. Cory at HTmoto really looked out, I probably wasn't the easiest customer to deal with. I had certain things that i needed to make sure happened or the seat was useless to me. The hole had to stay wide and the foam on the seat needed to have a nice round buildup so I had plenty of room to stand on. After a few days shipping to Cali, a few days at their shop, and a couple more coming back to Alabama, I was on the fence if it was going to be worth it or not. As I opened the box I had this thought - "..either this is going to be the best thing since sliced bread or it's immediately going for sale".

To my suprise- It was just about perfect! The guys there at HTmoto said they had to add a little more material to the seat base but they didn't go too crazy and the hole still fits my Sasquatch foot nicely.

I was very specific with Cory over at HTmoto. Almost annoying if I might add. The standing area is super solid and an easy 3". I know what your thinking...in most situations thats not alot, but this thing is a Mandingo as far as rear seats go.

A solid session working on Foot in seat tricks and it felt awesome. The "non-slip" material seems very sturdy and even after a full days abuse and me kicking it around the garage you cant tell I even stood on it!
I had a little issue with this extra build up fitting under my tail saver but with a little massaging and pushing it clicked in and was ready to rock. No trimming or anything. I'm pumped and feel confident on all of my Foot in seat tricks now. I also don't feel like I have Michael Myers creeping behind me when I'm rolling out on some nose coasters!

Now the down side. The Price. Its a little hefty in the coin, $150 for just rear seat work, shipping both ways, but you're paying for the craftsman ship. You can really tell these guys know what they are doing. The high density foam makes all the difference in my opinion. The other kinds of padding allow for friction between the fabric and the padding causing premature wear. Another one of my gripes is the kind of tacky HTmoto logos on the side, I was immediately tempted to cut the stitching and peel them off. They look like they are hot glued on so I may or may not still do this.

Either way a very solid seat and when you mention any of the HTmoto sponsored riders you get %15 off(which makes up for one part of the shipping).
As of right now DOwheelies.com address is down. I am trying to move the whole format over there and do away with the duality of it.
I looked at the stats and noticed this:
One of the reasons I started reviewing products on this blog was to give the HONEST truth. No hate, No sugar coating, No Nutswinging. Just honest review on parts. I feel that there is not enough of that in our sport. Its either "OH THAT SHIT IS DOPE(maybe because you sent me tons of free stuff or my mom went to high school with your mom)" Or just constant hate. There will be none of that here. If you feel like there is. Call me out. Punch me in the dick. Here at DOwheelies.com, we are here to help the people! Ok...I said we. Its really just me, but sounds like I have a huge staff here right? Enough of that shit, I don't want you to buy a part because everyone who is sponsored by someone says its great and you get stuck with the bill and a half ass part.

On to the review..

I'm sure you all have read my first review on the Shift Kickers, lets face it we all know you browse DOwheelies.com instead of working. Well I have had the chance to ride about 4 more sessions on these shoes. Just some thoughts:
The buckle is a pretty good design, has only unclipped on me once during riding.
The shoe strings are like parachute cord, they tighten up great. They are about 8 feet long, but a double knot and tucking them in the shoe they work good.
Sole is mildly grippy. I don't feel any improvement over my Reeboks I had previous, but not alot of slipping going on either way.
The inside of the shoe is very comfortable, they broke in easily after the first session.
Easy to get on and off unlike alot of actual boots.

Now for the problem. I have only rode in these kickers for a total of 5 days/sessions. The side of the sole that meets the leather is getting all chewed up. I noticed a little discoloration in the first couple sessions but didn't pay any mind. Not only is it getting chewed up. Its actually starting to seperate from each other.
At first I was thinking ok it may be just a foot brake side issue from all the use that side gets. Well its also starting on the other side as well.

I am running Sick Innovations rearsets so they are just machined aluminum, there is no paint or anything thats rubbing off. The side of the sole feels like its made out of that moondough that kids play with. All my previous shoes have had a harder sole and no issues. I don't know what made Shift do this difference in material since the bottom is a harder material.

Also, I was looking around the shoe and started seeing parts where the stitching in the leather was starting to rub off. Its not an issue yet, but it's something I'm going to watch because it may cause these shoes to die prematurely..barring the sole falling off.

So in conclusion, its a really comfortable shoe. Safe for riding, easy to wear, but longevity may be the issue. It seems like the road of caution is looking like these are a riding season or less shoe.
No one else wanted to make the trek(oh noes I can't drive 45 minutes to ride). So once again, It was me and my guinness sippin buddy Mike putting in work like a two bit stripper with one leg. Mike wanted to get serious for this year, so we did some "upgrades" to his bike. First on the agenda was to pull that silly upper off. I mean, c'mon Fairings? Thats soooo 2010!! Like Chaaah. Right? Not really, but he wants to progress and expecting to crash. The good thing is it made grinding down the steering stops on his 600rr front end WAAAY more managable. Now he can turn around like a motorcycle instead of an semi-truck.

It hurt like a mother, but mostly it scared me. We have all seen pics of people getting taken out by rearsets, pegs, bars, clipons. I didn't want to be "that" guy.. so that following Monday I ordered a set of those Shift Kickers!!!!

Cha Ching! Thats Money Kid!!!

I was a little hesitant at first, not knowing anyone who wore them and knew the sizing. Shift doesn't offer half sizes. I usually wear a 13.5 in most brands and occasionally a 13. So knowing the company I was buying from was good with returns I figured I'll try a size smaller and hope for the best. A couple days later the sz13 Kickers show up.

Pulling them out the box, first thing you notice. These things are FLOSSY. Secondly, there is a nice ankle strap, quick tighten string setup, and plastic inserts in the shoe itself for protection. I put them on and they fit very nicely.. a little wide, but I'm sure that could be taken up by a thicker pair of socks(or doubling up for your northern snow birds). I took a stroll around the house and stood on the table just to make sure I'd be able to feel the pegs and brake pedel...ok maybe I just stood on the table cuz I paid for it, who gives a shit. ITS MY TABLE...

Rode with these for two sessions over the weekend. I must say they break in quickly and are very comfortable for a long day of riding. I grazed my ankle a few times but it always came with a nice peace of mind that there was some protection there. The sole seemed like it had a little better grip than my last set of sneaks, was able to get more traction for stepping to frog mid circle. I had heard bad reviews about the strap popping off on "casual bumps" but I was in these shoes for about 20hrs this weekend and only looked down once to see the buckle undone.

Very nice shoe, reasonably priced, and a great peace of mind to have. Also, I believe its becoming a requirement for some competitions to have over the ankle support. Maybe that was Shift's angle with these.... either way, great for the lot, the comp, or curb stomping that fool that trash talked you on the internet --Jay and Silent Bob style!J Bloxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09751919671120479164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3753849456905682189.post-10803845318740406162011-01-18T06:13:00.000-08:002011-01-18T06:13:30.577-08:00Shinko Podium - Extended Review Part 2Whats up Wheelie goers. Blox Here. Just checking back in with a dozen or so sessions on that shiney Shinko Podium rear I put on weeks back.

When I first put this tire on I was really not comfortable with its profile and it seems very stiff. I couldn't get dialed in at my usual 40psi so I ended up dropping it down to 32psi for the first 5 sessions. Tire reacts awesome, was having issues drifting it at this pressure because the tire is almost TOO STICKY for my liking. It was really taking alot to push it out on drifts and keep it going. But I will say that it played to my advantage during all this cold weather riding. Never had to let it warm up, just out the gate and leaning over it was GTG! After about 5-6 solid sessions on this tire, a few fun rolling burnouts, about midcircle in the last session I thought my tire was going flat. I hop off and nope. Still 32psi. HOOooo crank that soulja boy...ok well it wasn't a soulja boy. More like a compressor. Superman'd that hoe back to 40psi and it dialed right back in.

Back in 40psi land, drifts were a dream it would break when I needed it to and stay sideways however long I wanted it to. This tire is MONEY! Well actually.. I wanted to hit on this point. Its not an expensive tire at all. Puts the beats on those Bridgestones and Dunlop! And I would say out performs them as well. Just as a test though I have a almost new BT015 I will be running in the interim of blowing up this PODIUM and a new one being delivered to my door. So there you have it. Shinko Podium's = DOwheelies.com stamp of approval!
I was sitting at work today and forgot that last night the city council was reconvening last night do see if I was still allowed to ride at my legit spot.

I pick up the phone and it took me a few seconds to realize what the phone call related to and then it took me a few more minutes to calm down and start listening. This could be it, I could be official like a referee whistle. Or worse. This could crush the sickest stunt spot I've had. Its so close to my house and the lot is like the perfect size for a couple riders. As I start to focus in on what is being said "This is so and so from the town of so and so"(You think I would tell you were my spot is at so you could blow it up? Yeah. Not on your life).."the council met last night and have come to the decision that you can still practice up there".

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOO! Man, it paid off. So many times of trying to go out and get a spot, selling yourself over and over again, getting shut down. It is nice to have it come through, especially from a municipality. Almost unheard of! But wait..

There are stipulations: No Wednesdays & Sundays - we are in the bible belt and they don't want to hear the rippin and tearin while they are in church. There is probably two churches in ear shot. Understandable. If people want to come up and play basketball I have to shut it down and pack up - No one wants to get drifted into while huckin up an Alley Oop. This is also understandable. And lastly if I'm still riding down there next year just come back in front of the City Council annually. Gravvvyyy!

So there you have it folks. Put in a little bit of work outside of riding. And things will pay off. Just remember: You're asking something of them, you have to play by their rules. Dress to impress and be courteous, stunters have a bad rep and we all know that, you have to prove otherwise!

I wanted to close by saying thank you to the Mayor and the rest of the City Council!J Bloxhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09751919671120479164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3753849456905682189.post-65559196273255898862011-01-10T17:46:00.000-08:002011-01-11T05:13:50.569-08:001/8/11 SessionThe weekend was back again and it was time to bust out the f4eeezy and try to make some headway. Sunday was supposed to be nothing but thunderstorms so I put the word out. One of my old teamates Brian BeEasy was back in town from New Mexico, so it was going down in Pensacola. Then I get a text from some of the Birmingham crew,Beto & Beau, that they wanted to come back to the warm weather and make some whoolie blocks. In a matter of mere minutes what turned from a boring weekend wreckin alone has turned into a sick throwdown.

I load the bike up, roll to Pcola and scoop up the Irishman on the way. And its GAME TIME!
Day starts off pretty normal, everyone is taking some time to brush off the rust. Then out of no where Beto starts dialing in and puttin the stank sauce down! Busting out a ton a circle combos I'm sure none of us have seen him do. It was actually pretty frustrating because I was trying to step to Ralph Louie and kept stalling out, but he's over there in the cut knocking out NTH Ralph Louies.

Beto waving for the fans

I'm pretty sure he was mocking me..or maybe that was me just aggravated. Then Beau comes knocking out some pretty sweet nose coasters. Man..I've been out of it too long.. this is some bull! So I figure I got to gain some of my rep back right? I'll roll a few out, they all go pretty good.
I started getting a little happy with the gas, rappin it out to the limiter. Got in touch with an old friend of mine, The names Shake, Head Shake. Ahh yes, still no stabilizer. So I chill out and back to the wheelie game. I ended up knocking out a couple Ralph Louie's in a row.
Thats what I thought. Well Mr. BeEasy was takin it far from easy whippin some seatstander O's, and slams down putting a hole in his stator cover. Josh and Porter show up midday to throw down with us as well. Both rusty and coming out the gate like they been riding all week.
Long story short. Great session. Even with a little oil and some squid faking the funk. Heres the rest of the pictures: Here
I believe Chris "Teach" Mcneil has said this on occasion-"In Stuntriding- Riding is only 10%". Which this is totally right. From driving 500+ miles to a comp/show/event, swapping motors in driveways, talking with sponsors, promoting, editing media. A successful stuntrider is a jack(ass) of all trades. Which of course I am not.
But on to my issue, GETTING/KEEPING a Legit Stunt Spot.

I was under someone else's permission this last year to ride at a city owned parking lot. With it being the change of the year, people start checking little things like insurance/waivers and make sure they are covered for the next year, its understandable. During Redemption Week, as most of you know I was asked not to ride at this spot until I could talk to the City Council. Well last night was the town workshop.

Lets trace back a step, being mostly a nonshow rider I do not carry a blanket insurance policy(as probably most stuntriders won't as well, unless you are doing probably 40-100+ shows a year). I have a found a few liability waivers and tweaked them a little to my liking. You can find some here - Click. I would advise if you are not good with legal jargin to leave them be, they are pretty good the way they sit. So, I printed out copies for each of the city council members with an additional signed one for records. I copied my drivers liscence, and health insurance cards. I also had a small resume of shows & events I have ridden in as well as a few stunt pictures(Things that look impressive to people outside the sport, but also make sure you are wearing your protective gear-putting the proper foot forward). And well, I guess we are ready.

I came to the city council meeting right after work so I was dressed well. It was actually hard for them to make the jump that I was that guy that was always stunting down the road. The Mayor walks in before hand and I introduce myself. He was very excited that I had came to the meeting and came prepared! He is good friends with a local extreme motorcycle rider and understands what we are doing. We talked for a couple of seconds and then the meeting began. I sat quietly and respectfully as other issues were being handled on the docket. After an hour or so it was my turn - GAME TIME!

The Mayor gave me a quick introduction to the rest of the council and asked me to explain what it is I do and would like to ask of the city. I first explained my personal life, job, where I lived to show them that I was apart of the community. Then explained riding experience, people I've worked for, charity rides, etc. So once they were comfortable with me. It was time to tackle the real issue. I believe they wanted a blanket insurance coverage(which I beleive the other extreme rider may have. still undetermined). So I methodically went through the waiver and hit on all the key points. Yes, I know this is dumb and dangerous - If I destroy any of my stuff yeah I got it I'm stupid. If I die, Yes, I am an idiot. Points taken. Another point that I made which is in some of the waivers is accidental damage to their property. That it legally bound me to fix it, as I would do anyway. I went on explaining how I already sweep/leaf blow the parking lot and pick up trash. In conclusion, I thanked them all for their time and consideration. The Mayor finished off with a few small questions, stated that he would love for me to ride for their Kid Fest sometime, and gave me a small nod and smile. Thanked them all again and was dismissed.

So the wait begins. In a week or so they will make a decision on whether or not I can still ride. But this my friends is how you go about getting/keeping a legit spot.
Its the first sunday of the new year, sunny not a cloud in the sky, temp is around 59 deg(an upgrade from most of the week), and I was going to have someone to ride with!

I wake up to a text saying - "Sorry bro, I woke up late and didn't load the bike". BANG HEAD TO WALL. It pretty much killed all motivation. I hung around the house and noticed NOT A SOUL was out in the neighborhood.

Plus, I told myself, I have to unload the bike out of the truck anyway right? Can't let it sit out side with a garage right there. So here I am unloaded, with idle screaming in my quiet neighborhood. I clutch right up, bikes a little cold, I'm coming in hot on cold tires. Oh yeah, buttery smooth circles right out the box. Clutch, Gas, Repeat!! Knocked out a quick little session in the neighborhood and no one was the wiser. I would have to say its not the epic end to R.W. as I wanted, but it definately was a good closer. I'm now comfortable on my new bike and starting to be where I was a year ago when this motor after motor disaster started. Today was set with high hopes and a couple main goals to focus on, but Mother Nature had a different idea. Roll up to the new legit spot, unload, and start warming up. Everything was feeling right today - Drifting was back, huckin up some sweet stoppies on a cold tire, banging out consistent O's out the box!

I'm getting pumped and putting some aggression down into my riding again. Then a torrential downpour was unleashed on the parking lot! I'm talking about mid circle I could feel my socks swell and water filling my shoes! Too late to stop now. I rode until I got tired and then took a break.

My company showed up. ATL Rider Matt from Adrenaline Boyz was near town and heard I was riding. Well, this super cool guy comes in and blows my legit spot! haha, ok. That may not be how it happened.

I have permission from the pastors at this church, but I guess the head pastor was there and with both bikes revving and buzzing around the lot(or the fact that Matt's bike was loud as shit). The pastor came ripping out of the church yelling and screaming tell us to get out..think he dropped a H E double HOCKEY STICK or a DAMN. UGHHH Son, I know you aren't doing this?! Two legit spots in one week? BULLSHIT! Hoping to salvage this spot we load up. As we are pulling out the lot he comes out and apologizes that it wasn't very christian like and we can ride some other time when he isn't there working..right...

I had one "not so legit" spot in mind we rolled to. It was three things: Big, Wet, and Slick. Usually this is a GREATTTT COMBO! Today not so much. I had a blast riding, Matt got a little aggravated with his bike, but over all it was a good sesh. Sorry guys I didn't get any video/pics because SOMEBODY has dropped the ball. I won't point fingers though. So I'll try to make up for it with this:::
It is supposed to change the whole compression ratio/angle of the ass end. F4i's are known for having a sloppy rear. So hopefully this will do the trick.

I will go step by step here to show you exactly how to install it:

First I threw a jack under the header pipe to pull the weight off of the rear tire. Next I loosened up the bolts on the stock suspension link(Ratchet+17mm socket and a 14mm box-end wrench)

Then it was on to loosening the bolts holding the stock arm.

If you look here I inserted a 8mm allen wrench in and let it jam up against the bike then on the opposite side loosened it with the 17mm socket(This is great doing this swap solo)
With all these bolts loose you will notice that you can't really pull them out in place. So with a wiggle of the swingarm up and down you are able to get the bolts out and it will start taking more pressure off the others. And shizam the stock links are off.

Now was kind of the tricky part. In most cases, the stock arm will pull right out. And of course, that was NOT the case for me. So I had to loosen the two brackets that the arm mounts to. Here is another trick of how I loosened these myself by wedging the 14mm socket against different parts of the bike.

Waahhlahh. Its out. And its off to the presses! Well, actually I decided to do it in a standard vise that most of you have in your shop. This will make this alot more useful(for all you ballers, you know how to handle this in your 50ton press. DOWORK).

So the setup I used is pretty basic. I found roughly a 3/4-1" piece of pipe and used it on one side of the arm(this will allow the bearing to be pushed out of this side). On the opposite side I used that same 17mm socket we had before, only now I took a 3" extention and put it in the wrong side of the socket(where you would usually have a bolt). This will allow us to push the bearing all the way through th e arm with as much surface area as possible. We do not want to damage the bearings.

FIRST - Be sure to pop out the bushings inside. Also, take a very small flat head screw driver and pop off the seals. Set these aside for later.

Chuck these up in the vise and start applying pressure. And Repeat until both bearings are out.

Now its time to press them into the new arm. I popped in one oil seal flush with the side, then laid a rag over the vise jaw that would contact my fresh shiny Naarden link. Pressed them in with the same setup until it became flush with my oil seal. Then pop in the other and repeat! Boom. Now just reverse the removal instruction and you end up with this!

(I noticed that the letters A L S are engraved. I assumed this was for Arm, Link, Shock - or something like that so I assembled it as such). Tighten all bolts and go ride!
the bike as well.

Ok, so I went out and rode with this thing on and here is what I think so far.
Well temp was about 30deg F outside. Tire was fairly cold, and did not get so much as a spin or slip doing a sitdown. Effortlessly comes up. Feels alot more crisp on throttle/brake inputs. Also, dipping in on circles and making body adjustments were more smooth because I didn't have the delay of the rear squatting and then rebounding. After a couple hours riding I decided to huck up a few stoppies, and they came up very smoothly. This bike has a 600rr front end on it, but I have rode a stock linked 600rr front f4i and it would still occasionally push the front end. The couple times the tire washed out the rear tire was already off the ground. Drifting - As far as drifting goes this link REALLY changed it for me. Not for the best because I didn't spend much time on it but I can tell the bike reacts waaaay different on gassing out(could also be the tire I just put on). Played it safe. And I will check back with another update after more seat time! LATER HATER!
If you want to get this must have part follow the links on over to Naarden.biz!
Put in some work today. Found another legit spot at a church. So I unloaded and started to get to it!

Day started off pretty bland. Got one or two Foot in seat circles, and thought I was ready for round two of the tailgate stalling. So I turned on the video camera and froze. I almost took out the side of my truck and it wasn't even in the field of view!

I started trying to do some stoppies, and well it wasn't that bad. Nowhere near where I used to be, but for such a short approach in a sandy lot with no stabilizer. I'll say it was a winning day!

Also, tried stepping down to Ralph Louie with little success. I've done it a couple on single piston handbrakes, but pretty much sucked today. So here it is people. Not alot of good footage riding alone, but as promised. Vid or pics every day!

Everything went good, breaking in a new tire at a no burnout/drift spot made it interesting to begin with.

So on to Day 1 of Redemption week. I get to the lot and bike is ready to go. I let it warm up for about 5 minutes on stock idle, throw on some gear, crank the idle and let errr rip tater chip!

After a little while of dialing in, it starts to click. Seat standers circles start coming back, Foot In Seat circles, couple straight line combos. I couldn't knock out more than 2 or 3 circles in a row so about half way through the day I thought "You know what would help me get my control back? Learning Tailgate Foot stalls!"

I Know. Probably not the smartest thing to do, but hey I really don't pay much attention to that anyway. So I started trying to come in from the right, dip in to the left and work my way back to the truck. Could never get close enough to throw the foot out. Then I started coming in from the left and dippnig in towards the truck. And instantly it felt better. Within two or three tries I was sticking my toes on the tailgate. I managed to do a couple of nice stalls then stopped. Grabbed the camera and set it up in the bed of the truck. Didn't get any of the good stalls then, but I got some sweet mess ups. So here is the video! Hope you like it, due to computer/internet problems I couldn't get it edited down and uploaded right.

Note to self(Last stall attempt on video) - CHECK GAS BEFORE CIRCLING INTO INANIMATE OBJECTS! Went and filled up with gas. When I got back, the city police officer was there waiting on me. Something about I can't ride until they get a new certificate of insurance for next year? Ok. Well they didn't have one for this year? ugh. Spot hunting tommorrow!

I usually don't agree with this. I'm a firm believer in getting a deal, being cheap, or pinching that last penny. And where has it got me you ask? It has got me a garage full of broken motors, useless parts for bikes I don't own, a mountain of aggravation, and almost a whole year of little to no riding. Something has got to give!

I pondered this nonstop for a day..forgetting to do alot of things..spacing out when talking to people..forgetting to eat. I was consumed by this. It was time for one last shot and to do it right. I needed something reliable, solid, and pretty much a guarentee i could beat on it. I heard thru the grapevine that a known stunter with a known such bike was getting out the game. With a quick call to Ryan aka "50 Slut". It was done, I was leaving for St. Louis!!!

Mark it down: 5:00pm, 50Degrees, still undecided on how I feel about this but too late now I'm already on the Interstate.
This is just unnatural!!

Mr. Slut was tied up hunting geese or killing baby alpacas or hell I don't know at this point. Two hours later I get the green light and I wake up to this:

Fuuuuhhhh! I'm not made for this! So I kick around his house - examining the bike, helping round up the spares, and just overall shooting the shit. I have to say Ryan was one of the easiest guys to buy a bike from and really chill(no pun intended) dude. He had a good laugh at me shivering like a virgin in a brothel, but we knocked out a deal and I loaded up!
Now time for the epic journey home. Drove thru IL, TN, KY. Nothing to really say except..well there aint anything there to talk about!!
Well now its time to see what this baby will do!

The bike has sat for about a week or two in between the transport from my buddy's house in Florida and getting time to ride. A couple guys I'm helping get into stunting come up and we are heading to the lot. DO WORK!

Unload at the spot. Crank this puppy up. And my luck starts to strike again..the bike is not running as crisp as it was before. It has fresh plugs I think to myself, maybe its carbon build up in the cylinders? It just needs to be run is all.. Braaaaaaappp Braaaaapppppp I warm up the bike as I do with all my bikes---sitdown power wheelies to the limiter out the box!(probably another reason why nothing I ride ever lasts) Bike is feeling crisp again. Whew! That was close. Lets start dialing it in BAABY!

Hop up to the seat, YUT UGHHHH GHH grrr.. At this point about 1/4 turn into a circle the bike starts running like a Harley. I set down the wheelie- quick powerslide-braaap another fast sitdown wheelie.. it's getting worse. I know its all down hill from here so I do a fast rolling burnout back to the truck and shut it down.

After a few minutes of cussing and walking around the bike glaring at it like it owed me child support, I tried the start button. Motor is seized up.

And try to do so with as little to no cash as possible. I had alot of spare parts off my 636 laying around so I hit the classifieds like a crackpipe!
Traded a front end for this-

Hohey Big Rotor Kit with all brackets and rotor, 80" handbrake line, rear wheel, and a 55t sprocket.
Turned around and traded the sprocket for some random sensors to get bike going.
Traded some brake lines for this-

HSP Tailsaver
Traded a 16x18 Brembo for this-

GPR Stabilizer w/mounting
Traded a broken gauge cluster for this-

Mint set of Renthal Medium Grips

Ok, so the trades started running dry so had to lay down some coin:

Sick Innovations Rearsets on a sale buy in $125

Freestyle Ingenuity 0 Degree Clamps $25

Vortex Gas Cap $25

ART Exhaust $35

It was a slow process but I got all the parts in and installed. Used quite a bit of scrap stuff from other bikes(but also did end up with most of this I could of ran the handbrake with a 929 non radial i got for free, 4piston caliper from a bent fork) like my 13mm magura handbrake master + 80" line + caliper w/fresh oem pads. Tires off my 636.

I did not have the ground strap for the battery so I took two from 636 spliced them together to get electricity. Used hoses from my kleen air mod. All the bolts on this bike came from parting out two kawis.

Once everything was all bolted it up in place, it was time for the final test. Will it crank??

BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPP!!!!!
Its alive! Wait...wait..tooo alive! This MFer was idling at 6,000RPM! AHHH. Shit. What did I do wrong..this thing is bout to rap apart, I know it! So, after many hours in the garage and no running bike to look off of. I shipped the bike down to florida to have a buddy of mine check it out.

It turned out to be a a vacuum port that wasn't rigged up to anything(see section:not having a running reference).

Total into a complete setup with gas, fluids, and some pretty sweet parts is about $850
"HOLLA BLOX!".

Thats all it took and I rolled out to my buddy's house. We will call him "Mike". Seeing how my f4i is still not done..(that and the fact that -1 66t may not be the street "friendliest") I hopped on his minty streeter RC51. He jumped on his f4i and you know what happened next!

Pretty uneventful for most of the ride. "Mike" was blasting some nice highway wheelies and i was bombing some V twin staggereds. I started noticing a small amount of smoke comin off his f4i. Wheelie after wheelie the smoke turned from puff into billowing. We pull off at the local hooters to find this.
